The Reclaim

… currently in the making …

About my newest trajectory

Growing up under open skies – roaming forests and working the soil through every season – immersed me in the elements and taught me to see the world as shifting atmospheres rather than fixed forms. After studying academic realism for years, I am settling into a new way of working and interpreting life through paint.

Rooted in observations of shapes and textures in nature and filtered through a characteristic palette of teal and coral, the aesthetic of my newest works creates a bridge between realism and poetic abstraction, where forms emerge and dissolve within fluid fields of pigment. In a playful, layered process, textures form and the initial vision gives way to what the painting wants to become – in a dance between control and surrender, intention and chance, presence and time.

This process reflects the way I feel my way through the world: Appreciative of its vibrancy and layered depth and fully embracing the vulnerability of uncertainty and change –  always searching for poetry within the full spectrum of human experience.

Through the practice of art, we not only shape raw material into the manifestation of an idea, but are ourselves shaped by it. It offers a breathing room for the spirit - inviting a deeper connection with our own human experience and to meet life with appreciative eyes that recognize the beauty woven through all its shifting states.
